Sergio Beck, a beekeeper in Brazil,
On the latest edition (2006) of the ABC & XYZ of Bee Polish I stumbled on this casual information, that after her husband’s fatality (P.F. “Roy” Thurber (1916-1984) Louise Thurber (1917-1999) “compiled and published a book, Bee Chats, Tips, and Gadgets, containing all of Roy’s copious research and published bee articles”. I couldn’t resist and prearranged a following-hand copy (as well as Richard Taylor’s The Joys of Beekeeping, a further excellent book). I’m a professional beekeeper in Brazil, but even so it’s unexpected I had never heard in this area it before. I want to assess this omission. The book is a wealth of information, all 233 pages literally full of sagacious and run of the mill implication tips on the art of Beekeeping. Even if already more than 26 being “ancient”, this number is a must on the shelf of any amateur or sideliner beekeeper. I can’t praise it ample. I’s subdue wandering owing to it, three weeks after getting it, reading a few pages anytime I can emergency a few summary everyplace.
Thankfulness, Louise…
